Friday Wrap-Up

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

For some reason, it doesn't seem that many bloggers head to the Chicago area to visit, or if they do they are keeping it to themselves - hmmmmm ... Really people, it's OK - I leave the M-16 chainsaw at home on the first blogger meet! Fortunately, there is an exception - Nicolle.

You might remember THIS visit last August. Great food. Great fun. Oh! Did I mention? Great Beer? The only downside was that Nicolle was staying downtown and I live in the puckies in a far northwest suburb, making for a 2 hour drive. This time? She was just down the road a piece! Only a 40 minute drive!

I picked her up at her hotel and we headed to The Ram Restaurant & Brewery for dinner, beer and desert! And yes, we shared this.

*NOTE TO SELF* For quality photos, check the camera settings before handing it to the waitress!

Can I wear white at dinner without issue? *CLICK*

We had a wonderful dinner, a wonderful visit, and I didn't have an anxiety attack attempting to find my way out of the city! Nicolle posted a few pics too - you can find them [HERE] Fortunately, she checked her camera settings prior to taking any photos!

Have a safe trip back to Alaska my friend!

And...here we go!

1. *closes eyes and taps heels together* There's no place like home.

2. My favorite thing for dinner lately has been anything I've found on Relish!.

3. Meow! Meow! Meow! bark! bark! bark!

4. A nice long walk is a great time for a little self-reflection.

5. I could really, really, use some good news.

6. When all is said and done, all is said and done!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to grocery shopping (the market is never busy on Friday night), tomorrow my plans include an early morning bike ride and football registration for Cam and Sunday, I want to get the house cleaned up and all of the laundry done before we head to San Antonio on Wednesday!

My son, his mom, grandpa, and grandma are headed your way as we speak. They're going to be in your neck of the woods until Tuesday. Ryno's cousin is graduating from HS this weekend. Cheers!!

P.S. Don't track him down and molest him!!

A friend of mine with huge boobs would always drop something on her shirt at lunch time. She would just say, "Oh,I'm just saving that for later." LOL.

I'm STILL waiting to meet my first blogger friend. Maybe next year if I go to New York with Beth. She had a BLAST and there were 10 blogger people there!

Wow. Did you guys finish that? It's huge!

I really didn't ignore you guys last night--I just didn't hear the phone ding me!

g-man, the desert was HUGE, but yummy!

Matt-Man, you didn't find the GPS I put in the sole of Ryno's sneakers, did you?

Evil Twin's Wife, are you implying I have huge boobs? I was just grateful that I didn't manage to "shelve" my food until we ate dessert!

Bina, I've been reading about this Blog Her convention being held in Chicago this summer thinking it's a perfect opportunity to meet some bloggers. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone who is going!

Real Live Lesbian, I think the two of you should head north and visit Chicago!

Jay, I think if you were to move out of AR, your chances might be better*wink*

Lu', actually Lu, there has been some discussion about Cam and I heading out east next year (Baltimore/DC area). There are a few of you out there that I'd love to get together with!

Osbasso, you were just so jealous of our time together that you couldn't respond ... I know ... *wink*

And we didn't even eat that ONE dessert. We got about half way through it before we both gave up!

Have a safe trip to San Antonio. I am telling you that if I ever get to Chicago I will let you know.

Then we can eat lots of fattening crap!

it is fun to meet other bloggers....

I use to go to a suburb of Chicago every month...for over a year. It was after that I started blogging...

I wonder how close Jay is to Calico Rock?

OH! Me me me! Pick me! I live in the DC area! ;)

When I go to Illinois I stop about 200 miles south in a little town called Mason City. I will be there in September. I lived for five months in Hanover Park. That was long enough for me.

My BFF lives "south of I-80," as she likes to say. When visiting her (once a year or so), we get so wrapped up in various stuff, we rarely (i.e. never) go into the city itself. She works there. Hates it. But maybe at some point the stars will align. After all, she and I became friends thru online fanfic writing.
