Sunday Secret

I thought it would be easier to raise my son with a man in the house - that my son would benefit from a father figure. I should have signed him up for Big Brother's Big Sister's instead.

I can see why you'd have thought that. I always wanted my children to have a father, too. So disappointing when that "father" isn't what you thought you'd have for your child(ren).

Love the picture. I always searched for similar cards for Mother's Day. LOL

It takes more than a being biologically male to be a good father or a good role model. You can raise a good man on your own.

Well, I just have to say your son is a delight and you've done a good job. :)

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the cartoon! Ditto the above comments. It sounds like you a doing a great job with Cam w/o any help from a testoserone-laden blob.

FF, I think, subconsciously, I was wanting my son to have the father I never did have.

Karen, teaching my son to be a good person is far more important than a traditional "dad".

Tali, thank you!

He's still learning valuable lessons... on how NOT to father. And given the circumstances, yes, you're doing a great job.

Ok, despite the seriousness of the post, that is fuckin' funny.

As always, I'm still hoping for you to find a way to make your dreams come true.

Dana - we're all walking a razor's edge, trying to stay balanced. It can be hard to tell what's more important, or more beneficial, until after the choice has been made. You are living your life as best you can, and seems to me that each day brings you a new opportunity.

Apple, my concern is that I am doing harm by keeping him with the testosterone-laden blob.

Leighann, let's hope that is the lesson he is learning.

RLL, good! I was hoping y'all would laugh because it was meant to be funny!!

Buff, the tat and the memories I know the kids have made this vacation worth every bit of tantruming!

Boo, I really don't like making bad decisions, can you tell??

bummer...do you have any contact with his bio father? I do it 'mom-less' around here.

Sorry 'bout that buddy. But I'm sure your strength and grit will do Cam just fine. Loved the pics and the tat. Cheers and Purrrrr!!

Dana,

The tats great. I'm thinking of getting one at my advanced age. Guys are less mature. I wan't a good dad until I was over 40.

Mike, I have to take some responsibility for making the decision, and for not having enough faith in myself!

Lu, I'm wondering if women are as much work ... I think next time I'll find a good wife!

DB, Cam's bio-father died about 3 years ago, so no - no contact - nor was there any prior to that. I know you do an excellent job single parenting and, quite honestly, I think I did better with it than I ever gave myself credit for!

Dana said...

Matt-Man, I'll get this whole parenting thing right, just about the time he leaves home *wink*

Neil, I'd like to believe this is an immaturity issue that can be overcome, but at 46,, I think he's about as grown up as he is going to get!
