April (frozen) Showers

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

I don't know about your calendar, but mine says April 6th. I could swear that I even saw a little square on the calendar way back in March that said, "First Day of Spring." This? This was my Monday morning wake-up call.

Schools in the area are on delayed opening schedules (not Cam's - whew!). The White Sox had to cancel opening day festivities (the Cubs - fortunately - are playing in Houston). A snow day in April??

Yes, I realize that I live in the Midwest, but when I left Minnesota and moved "south" I was certain April showers would be liquid, not frozen.

I suppose I shouldn't complain too much - next month we'll be smack dab in the middle of tornado season and I'll posting from my basement while sirens blare ...

It's cold out but not that cold out here so I won't bitch.

Tornado season, bleh. So happy I won't be in Texas during the worst of it. I was in one once and almost got carried away and they've caused me a little anxiety ever since then. *cringe* At least you have your basement to hide in. ;)

Happy Monday. Stay warm. :)

I did live in IL for 12 years of my life so I understand...And Texas, now, is playing that little bi-polar weather game that it is so good at. Today the high is 54, and by Thursday it will be mid 80's once again...I am sick of the lack of spring and consistency around here!
I am glad Cam isn't having to miss school!

The weather here blows as well. I like snow, but I like it during winter. Cheers!!

I thought I had it bad, hubby hurt his foot in a yard mishap and I offered to mow the grass for him. Green green grass, aahchooo!

Amorous, I was reading another blog this morning that was "complaining" about 48 degrees ... yet posted pictures of cherry blossoms!! We don't even have buds on the trees yet! I hate Chicago!

C, do you have any idea what I'd do for 54 degrees?? Even as a high??

Matt-Man, funny you should say that - it's BLOWING here now - 30 mph!

Finally!!! I can look at a picture like that and boast that we'll see the mid-60s today! And not feel badly about it in the least! :-)

We are getting cold here also...(well not THAT cold)...I remember an Opening Day at Yankee Stadium in the 8-'s that was canceled due to 9" of snow that day!

It's damn cold here this morning also. I wouldn't mind it being so cold if it had snowed though. Instead it's just cold, windy and gloomy.

It is chilly here today too. But it is rainy. That cold miserable rain. I would have rather had one last snow!

Only someone from Minnesota or Wisconsin would consider the Chicago area "south." They drew a Mason-Dixon to make it easier to tell "north" from "south."

And in the land of cotton it is in the low 40's with snow in the forecast for tonight.

And you weren't even teased with the VERY spring like temps that we were early on!

I sure hope it warms up soon for you guys!

Lu, we won't need to mow here for at least another month!

Hammer, ummmm ... I didn't wear a coat today!

Os, Pfftt!

Bond, there will be no opening day in Chicago this year!

Jay, ummm ... I'll take cold, windy and gloomy - thank-you-very-much!

Karen, we've just had a really LONG winter - I'm tired of snow!

Ew, that's a hellava thing to wake up to. I'm so glad I dont live in upstate NY anymore for the same reason.

Yeah.

For folks who are supposed to be worried about Global Warming, I'm really more concerned about the next coming Ice Age, to be honest.

Hope the iceburgs don't get you for at least another couple of years yet!

It was 83 in Dallas on Saturday. It was 73 when I got to Nashville at 6:00 PM last night, and when I got home (30 minutes from Nashville) it was 57. Tomorrow? it will be 29 in the AM. I do NOT have enough sheets to cover all the things that have bloomed while I was gone!

Mid Michigan didn't get hit.. yet.. go figure..

Fate, the Mason-Dixon line only apples to the east coast folks ... and at least part of Illinois is SOUTH of the Mason-Dixon line anyway ... so there! *wink*

Vixen, no, there has been no teasing here. Winter seems to have quite the hold on us.

g-man, no kidding huh? Happy friggin' Monday!

Jorg, I've been begging for a little bit of global warming and no one has cooperated.

Bina, I guess my silver lining is that nothing has even considered blooming here!

Buff, let me fan it your direction ...

Not to rub it in, but we were supposed to get some of your snow in WI, but fortunately in didn't get far enough north. I got to wake up to the sight of grass.
