HNT - Spiders

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

“Will you walk into my parlor?" said the Spider to the Fly;
"'Tis the prettiest little parlor that ever you did spy”

~ Mary Howitt

Halloween. It's likely my least favorite, highly celebrated "holiday." It is filled with all of kinds of heebie-jeebies and anxiety provoking elements. I hate to be scared - hate things/people jumping out at me - I can't even watch a horror flick without covering my eyes 92.7% of the time! Imagine my horror at learning HNT would have a Halloween theme this week!

And spiders? They seem to be a favorite Halloween decoration. They lurk on those store bought webs, posing as the harmless plastic variety, just waiting to attack! (EDIT: Apparently I misread something imagined there was an HNT Halloween theme and covered myself in these creepy spiders unnecessarily!! Now I really hate them and I feel foolish!)

Well, maybe the orange spiders aren't so bad ... *CLICK*

Spiders have a tendency to freak me out too...

There's a theme this week?

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I love the costumes. I love horror movies. I don't like getting scared but I love scaring the crap out of other people. I REALLY love spiders. Well, now I do. They look so friendly.

I've successfully ignored Halloween for quite some time now.

Though I could get used to those kind of spiders. :) Love the theme.

Vixen said...

That's not funny. I am terrified of spiders. And when your page loaded I had a mini panic attack.

Fake is ok. Esp the orange one. ;)

happyHNT (and you participating to a theme you thought there was, only shows how committed you are to hnt, you earn brownie points, in my book anyways)

Lucky ol' spiders, particularly the orange one. If it makes you feel any better, I went with a Halloween theme this week as well, even though there wasn't any 'official' theme.

Happy HNT!

Ashly Star said...

Eek! Lucky spiders. ;) I seriously dislike spiders though, ick. Happy HNT!

Mike said...

I`m not too keen on spiders myself, but i`m always willing to lend a hand to remove such spiders from someone as lovely as you ;)
Great pictures and idea.

G & S, sexy creepy? I guess that's a good thing! *wink*

Os, uhhhh ... clearly I am a bit confused, and I put those damn spiders on me for nothing!

Knight, these were terribly nosey spiders ...

Dana said...

Ms. I, I try to ignore it but when you've got a kidlet it's a little more difficult to ignore!

Vixen, I had a mini panic attack putting the darn things on me!

Kat, creepy-crawlies *shudder*

Dana said...

Evening, and the creepy spiders were all for nothing!

FF, whew! Another theme-er! Now I don't feel so alone!

Mariposa, it seemed like a good idea at the time!

Dana said...

Matt-Man, classic spiders?

SS, would that make you Spider Man?

Jay, these were a bit more friendly than most spiders!

Dana said...

~c, thank you!

Adam, and I thank you for flashing your pumpkin!

Amorous, spiders and I don't normally get along very well!

Dana said...

Mike, would you be willing to kill these darn things? I don't want to see them again!

Artist, thank goodness the orange spider was a friendly one!

Kannon7, I think Spider Man might attempt to lure me into his web!

Dana said...

ASM, spiders are probably my greatest fear - as unreasonable as it is!

Nicey, I don't think anyone outside of North America considers this a holiday and I think the rest of the world got it right!

Anonymous said...

Spiders look rather cute on you, particularly the ones of the orange variety. Remind me to tell you the story one day of the bathroom in a state park I once visited....it was infested with daddy long-legs spiders. Thousands of them! {shudder}

Anyway...HHNT to you!

Anonymous said...

I love this! Where did you get the orange one tho? Ive never seen those in stores !LOL

Mike said...

Yup more than willing to do that just for you ;)

buffalodick said...

I don't like spiders, but I like these spiders...

As American as Apple Pie said...

My first thought when that popped up was "God! I hope those aren't real". Now, I knew no one in their right mind would willingly put REAL spiders on themselves...but that's where my brain went.

You did a good job arranging them. Pretty cute actually.

tt said...

Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!! Spiders totally creep me out! however.....on you they look less gross. Is that a complement?? Not sure.
Can I just say...I'm completely jealous of your boobs!! They don't hide under your armpits when you lay down. LMAO!!
Hussy!

Leighann said...

You're a trained killer and Halloween heebie jeebies freak you out? Explain that to me, wouldja?

Good Morning Dana,

Perfect angle for the orange shot.

Ahhh to be one of those spiders ;)

Great theme!! Thank goodness they are plastic!!

HHNT!!

Pepper said...

I can't say we are big fans of spiders, but somehow they look great on you...perhaps it is the nekkidness that helps.

Happy HNT!

You're a human web! Lucky spiders!

Ha Ha! I LOVE it!

Dangerous Lilly said...

Well, it is quite a nice photo!

I hate horror movies too, I won't watch them anymore. Hated the stupid haunted house thingies my friends dragged me to in HS and college, people jumping out at me would literally scare the piss outta me.

Karen said...

Blogger hates me and deleted my last comment. So...long story short...

Great photo. I hate scary movies. I like little kids in costume.

SCW, I was just lucky (?) to find an ENTIRE bag of spiders, both orange and black!

Mike, whew!

Dana said...

Buff, it seems arachnophobia is quite prevalent!

Apple, ummmm ... are you CRAZY?? Real spiders? GACK!!! And I didn't arrange them you silly, I couldn't even look at them!

tt, less gross when discussing spiders qualifies as a compliment.

Dana said...

Leighann, the Army didn't train me on how to kill the Texas Chain Saw murderer!!

Karl, *giggle* That little orange guy was a bit of a challenge!

Average, those spiders are now in the trash - do you still want to be one?? *wink*

Deech said...

Jennybean, creepy but sexy seems to be a common thought.

No need to feel foolish. As I understand it, we all do whatever we want for HNT.

Personally, I'm as happy to admire your bravery as your breast.

Dana said...

Bond, leave it to you to ruin our cyber love affair! And all over some silly pumpkins and ghosts!

Pronto, the orange spider was my favorite of them all!

Lucia, I think I've been called creepy far too many times today *wink*

Dana said...

BTE, just wait! Your boobie tribute is coming up next week!

Giacomo, EEUUWWW! Now that is creepy! OK, maybe not with the plastic spiders, but still!

not2shy, putting spiders (even the fake ones) all over myself did require TONS of bravery!

Such dedication to the cause!

What I really want to know, though, is whether the spider was that colour before it found its way to your nipple or whether it's just very embarrassed ...

Happy HNT :)

d2b said...

When it's halloween, why do you feel like a fool to make a Halloween theme?

I think the spider pictures rocks ;)

Happy Halloween and HNT!!!

rage said...

Don't feel foolish, I did a halloween themed HNT too. In fact, a lot of people did.

Hetero-Sapphic, I'm just glad I am done with them.

Dana said...

Ms. Lily, spiders *shudders*

Turnbaby, a perky spider?!

fabsterrant, I'd like to smush all of them!

Dana said...

Ro, are you implying that my nipples are embarrassing? *wink*

d2b, I just felt foolish for thinking there was a theme - and plastering that on my blog - when it was really a misread on my part.

Rage, yes - as it turns out it was not the end of the world, was it?

Dana said...

Maeve, he just perched there quite nicely!

Doggy, *sticks tongue out* Meanie!

Garbanzo, you never imagined you'd want to be orange, did you?
