We're baaaack! We made it home safely - pulled in to the driveway at about 8:30 last night. Here is the final installment of "Road Trip 2008."
I know these vlogs werefar too a bit long. I really do appreciate all of you who took the time to watch them and to leave comments, even when you knew it was likely that I wouldn't have time to respond. You guys really are the best!! Cam and I both had a great time vlogging - by the end of the trip he was asking if it was time to vlog again.
One highlight of yesterday's travels. Remember when I did that post on Bull Nutz? Guess what Cam and I saw in Minnesota yesterday? Yep! Here's the proof!

Thanks for sharing your road trip with us! I loved seeing where you were going. I have never been to that area of the country and I would to explore it someday.
Are you back to work today or do you still get Mondays off? I think you need a day of rest after all that driving!

I guess in this case, the phrase, "getting away is nice, but it's always nice to come back home" doesn't apply.
And perhaps, my friend, maybe the end credits saying that "this is end of the road" is quite the opposite. Maybe you and Cam can build on this trip and have more fun.

Os, maybe I'm just looking for things that aren't there. I notice a distinct difference in the tone of my voice and my facial expressions as I get closer to home. It's given me a bit of a different perspective.
Matt-Man, I'd say you hit the nail on the head. The trip was great, but coming "home" I felt a blanket of stress come down on me. I can actually hear it and see it in the vlog. Not necessarily a bad thing, but something I think I need to pay attention to.
Knight, you were waiting for that shirt to come untied, weren't you??
I could tell the attitude change when you talked about coming home.

Yeah, there was a bit of change in demeanor and attitude as you were getting close to home.
Gosh! There I was waiting for something catastrophic to happen like a train wreck, but it was something much darker and quieter. Going home shouldn't feel that way. The slight break in voice, slight teariness. The overly widened eyes. The slight swallowing.
I think an adjustment to your statement might help:
You were going to your house.
Cam is your home. You will always be home.
I hope for you that one day that the comfort of being home and being at your house is the same. Sadly, it does not seem that way now.

Jay, thank you! It's good to be off the road. Some evil think took place about the time we hit Wisconsin - people stopped being courteous drivers and started being competitive drivers. Have I mentioned lately that I hate Illinois??

Wohoo, you made it! Glad you and Cam had such a great time together. I'd say its safe to say that this will be one of the memories he reflects back on as he grows older. Buying a cool video game for him or a really cool _____ that you bought for him are all fine and good, but this is the stuff life is supossed to be made of. Good one on one time with the one he loves.
And definitely put me on the calander for next July if you make it back out this way.

I definately noticed a HUGE difference in demeanor in yourself when you snapped to the IL segment.
I vote your next big road trip be to FL - and you can stop through here, or make "here" your destination! It's my turn to take you to a lunch in MY city! The weathers great, smiles abound, but people are still asshole drivers.
Perhaps Mardi Gras would be a good time to visit???!!!
