TMI Tuesday

TMI Tuesday

1. LUST: Besides your current Significant Other who do you lust for or have you lusted for?

Can we have a little talk? Lust is likely one of my top deadly sins because it can be so much fun! In the name of fairness, and because we could be here all day if I had to compile a list of all current and past recipients of my lust, we'll further define this as blogger lust AND limit it to one male and one female (because lust has no gender bias).

Anyone who has read me for a while knows about my blog crush. Well, that blog crush has grown into blogger lust. Yes, it's true, I lust for Matt-Man. Now stop shaking your collective heads.

Anyone have any guesses on my female lustee? Let's just say this has been going on for quite some time and although I've told her about it on numerous occasions, I don't think she's ever really believed me. Maybe making it public will help. Yes, Tali, you are on my lust list!

2. GLUTTONY: What food brings out your inner glutton?

I was just talking about this yesterday - freshly baked bread! Seriously, I could eat loaf after loaf, fresh out of the oven, dripping in butter.

3. GREED: What are you greedy for?

Love. I really don't want for material things, but I have an empty heart that I want so badly to fill, so much so that I would qualify it as greed.

4. SLOTH: What is your plan for an ideal day of sloth?

Sloth is probably the deadly sin I least identify with. Sure, there are days when I spend too much time on the computer, but that's really about as close as I ever get to sloth. I tend to be about efficiency and completing projects.

5. WRATH: Describe a time that you let out a can of whoop ass on someone.

It takes a lot to push me to the point where wrath plays a part in what I do. I tend to be more of a walk away quietly, without turning back, kind of person. I can't even think of an event that qualifies as wrath ...

6. ENVY: Who or what do you envy? Why?

Hmmmm ... I'm feeling like this is a bucket load of Sunday Secrets rolled into one blog post! I'd have to say that I envy Boo(duh). Why? Because she's living the life she wants, and the life I'd like to live. I think she'd be the first to admit that her life isn't "perfect," but she's been honest with herself and is out their living the life that she chose each day.

7. PRIDE: Have you ever had to swallow your pride? What are you proud of?

I think I've gained at least 72 pounds swallowing my pride! It isn't something that is easy for me to do, but when I do it it's often in large quantities.

What am I proud of? Much harder question. Seldom do I allow myself to be proud. I'm afraid if I dwell on my accomplishments I'll somehow miss the opportunity for another accomplishment. I strive to always do better so pride is a fleeting thing.

I just kinda went into lala land at the thought of lots and lots of bread and butter :)

I think I saw a movie called SE7EN about this.... ;-)

I love your blog.

I also love bread. We have a Whole Foods near us and I go there just for the bread.

Have you ever had a chocolate sandwich.

Get some good bread, and make a sandwich with nutella.

Then put it in the george foreman grill for a minute or two.

Schmoop said...

I love bread too, want to make a sandwich out of me? I must admit, I had trouble reading this post, because I kept going back to the first question.

You should know that you are definitiely not a victim of unrequited lust. Purrrrrrrrrrrr and thank you, Dana. Cheers!!

Dana said...

Lu, funny how carbs can do that to you, isn't it?

Doc, I think you could likely write your own SE7EN *wink*

ASM, great TMI questions! Makes writing the answers a bit easier. When you said chocolate sandwich I was thinking a slab of Hershey's Milk chocolate between two slices of bread.

Dana said...

Matt-Man, as long as it's not a loosemeat sandwich I'm there! *giggle*

Those are just for Catholics, right? I sure hope so....

This is a great TMI, I wish I had time to do it. Alas, I am headed to camp after all. Anyway, here are a couple of my thoughts on your answers:

1. What about me?! You are at the top of MY blog crush list.

2. Yeah, fresh bread is awesome. That sandwich from ASM sounds yummy!

3. Ditto

4. Oh, I can do sloth given the right circumstances. Reading, watching movies, napping...I could go on.

5. I don't know that I've done anything that qualifies as "whoop-ass". Not that I haven't wanted too...

6. I envy so many people I'm practically a green smurf. I need to learn the "be happy with what you have lesson".

7. I'm proud of my children. But I think the question is about yourself. I think it's hard for many of us to answer b/c we are programed (esp as women) not to toot our own horns.

Real Live Lesbian said...

You have lots to be proud of. Cam, for one. All that weight loss! Look, I'm answering #7 for you! Surely that's a deadly sin, too!

justsomeguy said...

I forgot about bread! And it goes great with pasta too! I'm double-damned on that one.
Great answers all around today.

Dana said...

Buff, I'll keep this empty seat to hell saved for you just in case!

Apple, as I said, I had to really narrow that question down - LUST is soooooo my worst (best?) deadly sin.

RLL, logically I know I have things to be proud of, but am afraid they will go away if I acknowledge them. Odd, isn't it?

Mmmm, hot bread and butter. Man, that sounds good!

Interesting answers as always, Dana.

Jay said...

Yeah, I'd butter your bread for ya. ;-)

Knight said...

This was a loaded TMI day if ever there was one.
Have you ever made beer bread? I have eaten loaf after loaf of freshly baked beer bread. It just sounds good saying it.

Pepper said...

That's a lot of pride to have swallowed! LOL.

Great questions and great answers!

HTMI!

"I think I've gained at least 72 pounds swallowing my pride!"

good visual...lol...mmmm I forgot about hot bread and butter...yum.

Dana said...

Good Dr., if the truth be known, just about any carb will do. Buttered noodles are probably next in line after the buttered bread!

Jay, but would you feed it to me after it was buttered? *wink*

FF, you know the kind right? Where you bite into the bread and the melted butter drips down your chin?? Mmmmmm!

Dana said...

Knight, I seriously feel like I had to go through a month of Sunday Secrets to get through that one! And yes, I've eaten many a loaf of beer bread!

Paul, those who make many mistakes swallow much pride - sounds like a fortune cookie, doesn't it?

Nicey said...

Well me having a bit of a addictive personailty and being a bit of a bad boy yeah lust usually gets the better of me .....
Hey ho

Dana said...

Blue, I just wish it were a bit easier to reduce my pride consumption.

Nicey, well, as I've mentioned before, you and I have quite similar personalities *wink*

Biscuit said...

lust has no gender bias

No...no, it certainly does not. In fact, I guess I lied by omission on my own blog, for reasons that are probably obvious. *cough* husband *cough* Men make me googly-eyed crushy, but women, though rare, make me all lusty.

Leighann said...

Tali doesn't believe that you have lust for her.... is she blind? :p

ambergail77 said...

Yes, buttery bread is yummy. I love butter. I really like it on warm banana bread. Your accomplishments wont go away if you brag about them, but I am thinking they may be a little like your secrets, sacred, and you want them to stay that way.

Vinny "Bond" Marini said...

Let me make you some of my garlic bread...and you will wonder what you ever saw in bagwine!

Dana said...

Biscuit, as long as you come clean on my blog all is well (and secret) *giggle*

Leighann, I'm not sure what's wrong with her, but if she doesn't figure it out soon I'm going to have to move her down the list!

Ambergail77, you may have some insight on those accomplishments!

Dana said...

Bond, something tells me Matt-Man might just try to restrain me from your garlic bread *wink*

boo said...

This is the best set of TMI questions I've ever read, and the only set that's made me consider participating! That said, You envy me? Fer Nixon's sake woman, I'm as addled as they come. Being honest with myself is an ongoing process, and I probably spend way too much time analyzing everything I do, and why. I'm honored, shocked, and flattered. ^_^

Greed: I don't think you're greedy for love, I think you're starved for it. It is my fondest wish for your heart to filled to bursting with all the love it could possibly hold.

Bunny said...

I tend to be about efficiency and completing projects.

Can you come to my house and motivate me? Maybe show me how it is done? The thing I miss most since I stopped practicing law is having an organized and efficient assistant to keep me on track and motivate me to complete projects. But she drew the line at cleaning my house too. I guess I also miss having the income to afford a weekly (or even monthly!) house cleaner.

Happy TMI!

Baby said...

Well first, I have to say Dana, what a wonderful answer to No. 6, Envy - Yes, I too have felt the same reading her blog! But oooooh Hot Fresh Baked Buns... I mean, Bread! YUMMY!!!!!! :)

Acrimony said...

*blush*

Anonymous said...

My Mom in Law makes the second best homemade bread I have ever had. My Dad made the best but he's passed now so I will someday try to gather enough courage to test his recipe...

Dana said...

Boo(duh), they were excellent questions this week - had a little substance to them! Glad you decided to play.

Bunny, Just start practicing law again and I'll be your personal assistant - I might even clean *wink*

Baby, I just wish that I cared less about what others think and more about what *I* think.

Dana said...

Tali, I don't want you to blush, I want you to kiss me you fool!

jGrrl, you need to give that recipe it's respect!

Ms. Inconspicuous said...

I completely forgot about fresh baked bread... Oh, how yummy...

Your desire, your greed...I think that's a lovely-but-sad kind of answer. In a way, aren't we all greedy for that?

Happy TMI!

Anndi said...

I love your answers! I 'm greedy about kisses, gotta have em and plenty of them...

Bread .... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Dana said...

Ms. I, I actually bake bread, from scratch, most every Sunday. The loaf is gone by the end of the meal. And yes, the greed for love is kind of sad.

Anndi, lean on over here and let me give you a BIG one!

I one time or another, I have committed each of those cardinal sins. According to medieval theology, I am destined to go straight to hell—do not pass go; do not collect $200.

I think it is grand to be living in a more enlightened age.

Johanne said...

Well!!! Reading all that, I can say I'm glad I didn't find time to do the TMI today... Oufff!!!
Very interesting... ;-))

72 pounds swallowing pride?? You're swallowing the wrong things, Dana!!

Dana said...

Nick, I've still got an empty seat next to me on the train to hell. You are welcome to it!

SeaRabbit, is that a good thing?

Slick, don't get me wrong, pride isn't the only thing I swallow. As I always say, if you don't swallow it doesn't count!

Since I retired sloth has become my constant companion. Sometimes I think about the amount of things I used to do when I worked. I think it was crazy.

Lust? Mmmmm. Tall woman.

Dana said...

Neil, tall ones eh? I guess that makes my 6' tall self eligible for lust!

Neil Benson said...

Very eligible.
