I traded intimacy and passion for money and consistency - I sold my soul.

We all do, at one time or another. Life is a series of trade-offs- you get choices- you try and make good ones...

In the long run, when one does that, do they really wind up having any of those things? Cheers Dana!!

You hit right to the gut with your Sunday Secrets Dana....

Buff, and if you don't make good ones, hopefully you make better choices the next time. We'll have to see ...

Matt-Man, no they don't ...

Doc, sometimes a gut punch puts things a bit more in to perspective!

If we were perfect, we'd be angels, not human...oops! Satan was an angel once! Nobody I have ever met was right all the time. Like you said, next time we make better choices(hopefully!)after we've made a mistake...I say this alot- "I'm a little slow sometimes, but I'm not stupid!"

Why can't all be had? Why does one have to be given up to have the other?
Isn't the goal to have all 4?

I think, given the choice, most of us would go for money and consistency too.

I believe many people do. One could probably add "security" to the trade-offs.

that is so sad....

I wish I were as smart... I traded my soul to a tobacco company, a casino, and DRUGS. I think I got most of it back though. ;)

At least I hope so. ;)

If I had the opportunity, I would trade money and consistency for intimacy and passion. I would value that more ;)

I have passion.

I have intimacy.

I have consistency.

I have enough money to do the things I need, not all things I want.

I have 3.5 out of 4 and traded nothing but freely gave of myself.

Buff, sometimes it takes more than one mistake to learn the lesson - but the lesson is eventually learned - at least that's what I keep telling myself!

SS, I believe many people *do* have all 4, and I believe that I deserve all 4, I just didn't make that choice.

Jay, I think many of us do.

Nick, I agree, security is often in the trade.

DB, sometimes we make choices based on where we are in the moment, rather than considering what the choice will look like in 5 years.

Corky, I hope you did too :)

r.e.h., if I ever earn that do-over, I now know that intimacy and passion are far more important to me than I imagined.

Al, you are a wise man who makes excellent choices!

I got it right the second time around. (or eighth...but who's counting) I hope you get your do-over. It's worth all the crap that you go thru to get it.

It's never too late to get it back.

I ditto Leighann....it is never too late.
Can I tell you how explosive and powerful your revelations are?

Good luck at work this week, know we will miss you, and are thinking of you.

GUILTY as charged!

Dana said...

RLL, I think as long as you get it right at some point, you've done better than many!

Leighann, I don't know about that ...

Penelope, thank you!

Corky, read my blog *gigglesnort*

PP, I'm glad I'm not the only one! Misery loves company.

Birdman, I wish I didn't have so many secrets!

I'm at the point right now that I'd trade the money and all that goes along with it for some serious passion.

We all make trade offs. Some good, some not so much.
