Which is Worse?

Ted Kennedy, Oprah Winfrey and Louis Farrakhan have all endorsed Barack Obama in his bid for the democratic presidential nomination.

Great! He's got the approval of a drunk senator, a woman who claims she's in touch with "the people," although she'd have no idea where to find the nearest WalMart and could never put dinner on the table for a family of 5 using only rice, kidney beans and cream of mushroom soup, and most recently, the full support of a man who is more racist than David Duke. Ahhhh ... but he has charisma and speaks well so let's make sure he gets on the ballot in November.

In all fairness Obama never asked for or accepted any "endorsement" from Farrakhan. He was even asked about it during the debate and said that he rejected and denounced Farrakhan.

To try to hang Farrakhan's words around Obama's neck is pretty outrageous. Nobody is demanding that every white person running for office reject or denounce every white-supremacists who has ever espoused outrageous views. But every black running for office gets Farrakhan thrown up in his face.

Not only that but a week ago Adelfa Callejo who is a Democratic activist in Dallas appearing on behalf of Hillary said "Obama's problem is that he's black"...

At first Hillary's only response was that he had a right to free speech. Then she came back and told a Dallas TV station that she "denounced and rejected" that guys statement. My point is nobody in the national media demanded that Hillary denounce that douche bag publicly and in front of the entire country.

But, they did demand if of Obama. And even though he had already done so he did it again. Their response? We should talk more about Farrakhan.

Not to mention John McCain standing on stage with John Hagee in San Antonio. Haggee, in addiction to being a homophobic, racist bigot is also a Religious bigot. He has called the Catholic Church "The Anti-Christ" and has repeatedly said that Catholics aren't actually Christians and are all gong to Hell.

Haven't seen O'Reily or Russert or any of the other Catholics on TV call out McCain for this either.

Sorry so long, but it gets old.

Don't disagree with you about Kennedy or Oprah, but the Farrakhan thing is nothing more than "They're both black so Obama must agree with him" bullshit.

Love ya. ;-)

Jay, I agree - Obama did NOT ask for Farrakhan's endorsement AND he has addressed it, albeit in an odd, round-about way that seemed to hinge upon keeping Farrakhan happy.

I just fear this election really will be about race and racism in this country and has the potential to become an "us" against "them" election - certainly not in the best interest of the country.

I think this whole scenario opens the door wide open for me. I am so gonna be livin' large at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Cheers!!

My favorite thing about this whole thing is that Rush Limbaugh (and his scorched earth radio buddies) is doing his dead level best to rail against McCain. Nothing short of Ronald Reagan rising from the dead and resuming office ("Mr. Gorbechov tear down this wall!") will make those a-holes happy. uhhhh Rush do you think that by supporing McCain your own party is tryign to tell you something there or are you still to deaf to hear it?

Matt-Man, you've always been my favorite in the election, even more so now that you've bared your ... ummm ... soul??

Doc, I'm not real thrilled with the Republican choice in all of this either, but I do think that those on the right who are waiting for the reincarnation of Regan are beating a dead horse (or is that President?)

All I can say, is that I truthfully believe either Hillary or Obama would make a good president - and that is my honest opinion. Which ever one wins the race, they will do a good job.

Black, Woman? Who cares!

I agree with R.E.H., I'm going wirh either Obama or Hillary, but I think Clinton's had it. She made a good run there for a second or two.

I just had this conversation with a friend today at lunch.

I personally think these endosements are for self promotion. (In the political areana you say? Big shocker I know)

What I mean is now that Obama is gaining more ground on Hilary and looks to be in a good probability to get the nomination, he has people jumnping on his bandwagon so they can say, "I supported him."

Just wait, if he wins Texas, the political masses might just flock to his support for the very same reason.

As for me, I'm voting for Matt-Man. With that teddy he was sporting yesterday he could be the president and first lady at the same time.

Ted, Oprah and Louis aside, the real issue with Obama is not his blackness, nor his sketchy Muslim upbringing. The real issue is...what does he stand for? What is his plan? What has he done? He is eminently likeable and well spoken, yet all he really seems to have promised is "change". Well, if he's elected, won't that be change? Will that be it? When exactly will the Unicorns and strawberry-scented welfare checks arrive? He has no record to speak of. More importantly, the "plans" that both he and Hillary have touted for health care reform amount to billions more in taxes taken from you and me (AND the richest 1% who actually shoulder something like 40% of the tax burden) He promises bi-partisan cooperation which really means "Republicans cave in to Liberal Democrats". He claims he will start bringing troops home immediately. He might as well just save some time and just load the planes with Al-Qaeda fighters and ship them straight over. That's tantamount to what will happen. Their goal is not for us to give up and leave, it is for us to submit to Allah and Sharia law or die. He'd sit down with Raoul Castro, smoke a few Cohibas without any expectations that Cuba will change it's dictatorial Communist regime? Don't even get me started (too late) on what he's got in mind regarding immigration (John McCain hasn't had the best record on this in the past, but at least at this point, he claims to have gotten the message the people are screaming. We'll see) The list of mistakes he's proposing is long and we're worried about whether Louis Farrakhan likes him? Hillary is almost point for point with him. The real choice is not between Black man, White woman, or White man. It's really between smaller government and strong defense or huge government, socialist medicine and Sharia law tolerance while having to hide all vestiges of any Christian or, God forbid, JEWISH influence or heritage. If you think it comes to anything less than that, you've got another think coming.

As long as we have "super delegates" and the Electoral College, who I personally vote for doesn't mean shit. I always vote, but it's more of a protest of our expensive- doesn't-count Presidential election process!

R.E.H., my political leanings will not let me go the way of Obama or Hillary, but it will be interesting to see what direction this country goes.

Corky, I'll be surprised if Hillary is able to pull this one off.

Jeff, everyone wants to be associated with a winner, don't they? That's why I'll be voting for Matt-Man in November.

Dana said...

FMD, you and I clearly share similar political ideals and concerns. I'm afraid that Obama's charisma is what many people are buying in to. He is an AMAZING speaker and people want to believe what he says. We'll see how it all pans out!

Buff, don't even get me started on the electoral college! I could do a series of posts on that idiotic and outdates process.

Don’t believe one optimistic word from any public figure about the economy or humanity in general. They are all part of the problem. Its like a game of Monopoly. In America, the richest 1% now hold 1/2 OF ALL UNITED STATES WEALTH. Unlike ‘lesser’ estimates, this includes all stocks, bonds, cash, and material assets held by America’s richest 1%. Even that filthy pig Oprah acknowledged that it was at about 50% in 2006. Naturally, she put her own ‘humanitarian’ spin on it. Calling attention to her own ‘good will’. WHAT A DISGUSTING HYPOCRITE SLOB. THE RICHEST 1% HAVE LITERALLY MADE WORLD PROSPERITY ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE. Don’t fall for any of their ‘humanitarian’ CRAP. ITS A SHAM. THESE PEOPLE ARE CAUSING THE SAME PROBLEMS THEY PRETEND TO CARE ABOUT. Ask any professor of economics. Money does not grow on trees. The government can’t just print up more on a whim. At any given time, there is a relative limit to the wealth within ANY economy of ANY size. So when too much wealth accumulates at the top, the middle class slip further into debt and the lower class further into poverty. A similar rule applies worldwide. The world’s richest 1% now own over 40% of ALL WORLD WEALTH. This is EVEN AFTER you account for all of this ‘good will’ ‘humanitarian’ BS from celebrities and executives. ITS A SHAM. As they get richer and richer, less wealth is left circulating beneath them. This is the single greatest underlying cause for the current US recession. The middle class can no longer afford to sustain their share of the economy. Their wealth has been gradually transfered to the richest 1%. One way or another, we suffer because of their incredible greed. We are talking about TRILLIONS of dollars. Transfered FROM US TO THEM. Over a period of about 27 years. Thats Reaganomics for you. The wealth does not ‘trickle down’ as we were told it would. It just accumulates at the top. Shrinking the middle class and expanding the lower class. Causing a domino effect of socio-economic problems. But the rich will never stop. They will never settle for a reasonable share of ANYTHING. They will do whatever it takes to get even richer. Leaving even less of the pie for the other 99% of us to share. At the same time, they throw back a few tax deductable crumbs and call themselves ‘humanitarians’. IT CAN’T WORK THIS WAY. Any 'humanitarian' progress made in one area will be lost in another. EVERY SINGLE TIME. IT ABSOLUTELY CAN NOT WORK THIS WAY. This is going to end just like a game of Monopoly. The current US recession will drag on for years and lead into the worst US depression of all time. The richest 1% will live like royalty while the rest of us fight over jobs, food, and gasoline. Crime, poverty, and suicide will skyrocket. So don’t fall for all of this PR CRAP from Hollywood, Pro Sports, and Wall Street PIGS. ITS A SHAM. Remember: They are filthy rich EVEN AFTER their tax deductable contributions. Greedy pigs. Now, we are headed for the worst economic and cultural crisis of all time. SEND A “THANK YOU” NOTE TO YOUR FAVORITE MILLIONAIRE. ITS THEIR FAULT. I’m not discounting other factors like China, sub-prime, or gas prices. But all of those factors combined still pale in comparison to that HUGE transfer of wealth to the rich. Anyway, those other factors are all related and further aggrivated because of GREED. If it weren’t for the OBSCENE distribution of wealth within our country, there never would have been such a market for sub-prime to begin with. Which by the way, was another trick whipped up by greedy bankers and executives. IT MAKES THEM RICHER. The credit industry has been ENDORSED by people like Oprah, Ellen, Dr Phil, and many other celebrities. IT MAKES THEM RICHER. Now, there are commercial ties between nearly every industry and every public figure. IT MAKES THEM RICHER. So don’t fall for their ‘good will’ BS. ITS A LIE. If you fall for it, then you’re a fool. If you see any real difference between the moral character of a celebrity, politician, attorney, or executive, then you’re a fool. WAKE UP PEOPLE. ITS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY. The 1% club will always say or do whatever it takes to get as rich as possible. Without the slightest regard for anything or anyone but themselves. Vioxx. Their idea. Sub-prime. Their idea. NAFTA. Their idea. Outsourcing. Their idea. The commercial lobbyist. Their idea. The multi-million dollar lawsuit. Their idea. $200 cell phone bills. Their idea. $200 basketball shoes. Their idea. $30 late fees. Their idea. $30 NSF fees. Their idea. $20 DVDs. Their idea. Subliminal advertising. Their idea. The MASSIVE campaign to turn every American into a brainwashed credit card, pharmaceutical, love-sick, celebrity junkie. Their idea. All of which concentrate the world’s wealth and resources and wreak havok on society. All of which have been CREATED AND ENDORSED by celebrities, athletes, and executives. IT MAKES THEM RICHER. So don’t fall for their ‘ good will’ ‘humanitarian’ BS. ITS A SHAM. NOTHING BUT TAX DEDUCTABLE PR CRAP. Bottom line: The richest 1% will soon tank the largest economy in the world. It will be like nothing we’ve ever seen before. and thats just the beginning. Greed will eventually tank every major economy in the world. Causing millions to suffer and die. Oprah, Angelina, Brad, Bono, and Bill are not part of the solution. They are part of the problem. EXTREME WEALTH HAS MADE WORLD PROSPERITY ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE. WITHOUT WORLD PROSPERITY, THERE WILL NEVER BE WORLD PEACE OR ANYTHING EVEN CLOSE. GREED KILLS. IT WILL BE OUR DOWNFALL. Of course, the rich will throw a fit and call me a madman. Of course, their ignorant fans will do the same. You have to expect that. But I speak the truth. If you don’t believe me, then copy this entry and run it by any professor of economics or socio-economics. Then tell a friend. Call the local radio station. Re-post this entry or put it in your own words. Be one of the first to predict the worst economic and cultural crisis of all time and explain its cause. WE ARE IN BIG TROUBLE.
