Expectations

~*~*~

Some times I wish I could ...

But most of the time I know that we get what we expect,
and expecting nothing leads to getting nothing.

Maybe I am doing this more than I'd like to admit.

I feel that way for the most part, but with a twist:

I expect nothing and appreciate what I get. Cheers Dana!!

I expect nothing all the time. I expect people to disappoint me. When they don't, I'm pleasantly surprised, but most of the time, I'm never surprised.

A learning from the rooms of Al Anon:

An expectation is a resentment waiting to be born.

I wish I could do that. Cause when you expect nothing you are never disappointed. Unfortunately, I am too much of a control-freak/perfectionist/anal retentive/high standards kind of person to actually pull that off.

Keep your expectations high, Dana! Communicate them & people WILL rise to the challenge!

Being the eternal optimist, I expect a lot. And I am let down a lot.

Tough to do... but being a pessimist isnt fun.

I expect the worst and get the bare minimum a lot. That just means I'm never fully let down and never lifted up either.

I expect the best, but prepare for the worst....

It's always good to have a plan B!

I expect nothing, yet I'm still disappointed most of the time.
