Wouldn’t it be awesome if… You could read people and know what they were really thinking, no matter what words come out of their mouth?
I've always been an "actions speak louder than words" kind of person, which works well for me in my personal relationships that are in my physical world (physical world equals the internet's reference to IRL).
It's more difficult with online relationships. All one really has are words to go by, and there are quite a few people out there who are amazing wordsmiths.
There's been a lot of talk this week about internet forums - those places where you can toss your opinion - anonymously - without repercussion. Where words can be said that you'd likely never say if your name was attached to them.
Honestly? I'd rather know. Can't stand me? I'd prefer you not appease me with your insincere words.
It's better that way.
Then I don't waste too much energy on you.

You are so right. Actions are the true testament to our heart. And like you, the older I get -- I don't worry so much about whether someone "likes" me. On FB or not. I don't spent time fretting about it. Like is too short.
I agree with you. If someone doesn't like my I'd much rather know it than falsely think that they do.

You know what they say, "What you don't know can't hurt you." I tend to be like you and want to know, but really when it comes down to it, life is too short to care what others think. What I think is what's most important to my well-being. Thanks for your thoughts. Have a lovely day!
Being able to read people would be cool and scary at the same time. They might be thinking a lot of the insincere words you speak of, or just be going through a lot that I couldn't handle.
It WOULD be great if we could truly read people. ::sigh:: I haven't paid any attention to any of the chatter this week and I think I like it that way. I'm enjoying being offline all day!
