10 Things Thursday|Cedar Rapids Edition

  1. Our annual company meeting was this week. Last year it was held at a resort in Lake Geneva, WI. This year? It was held in one of our vendor's meeting rooms in Cedar Rapids, IA. A bit of a difference.
  2. Monday was my travel day - I left Las Vegas at 5:29 AM and got into Cedar Rapids at 3:00 PM. It was a long travel day that included a flight in a 52-passenger plane that required I duck to walk down the aisle ... and then I had to attend a 6:00 PM dinner.
  3. Did I mention I was at the gate directly across from Garrett popcorn but couldn't wait in line to enjoy all that is Garrett??
  4. In between checking into my hotel, and dinner, son texted me asking if he and his girlfriend could temporarily move into the apartment. He has said that they will take care of their own expenses (food, etc.) so I agreed to let them move in on July 3rd. We'll see how this goes.
  5. Meetings on Tuesday were productive, and then we got to have dinner here
  6. Although I have ZERO desire to move back to the midwest, I have to admit that this storm - and subsequent double rainbow - did make me reconsider
  7. Wednesday was another travel day. When I got to the Cedar Rapids airport, my mom called to let me know her new (to her) vehicle had died. This is the second time in 60 days.
  8. My return trip to Vegas included a layover at DFW. Skylink is both a blessing and a curse!
  9. While waiting for my luggage at McCarran, I got a call from son telling me he was in an accident. There were no injuries, but there will be an insurance claim
  10. And then I couldn't remember where I parked. I'm never leaving home again!

I went to college near Cedar Rapids, so I know that area well.
Sounds like a trip that was way too eventful for what it is!
Oh, and the big thing I miss about the midwest? The storms. We can get some doozies here, but they are just not the same.
