2012 TO DO LIST

~*~

Well, you didn't think I'd skip the 2012 TO DO list, did you??

If I followed my "Things that identify what is important in my life" theory - and I wanted to be successful with my 2012 TO DO list - I'd list items like 'waste time on social media', or 'drink more beer and vodka'.

Unfortunately, those aren't really what I want my priorities to be, but rather what my priorities were in 2011.

I'm hoping to be able to look back on 2012 and cross off the following items:

*2012 TO DO LIST*
  1. File for divorce - This is a BIG one. It has become overwhelmingly clear that there is no chance of, nor desire for, reconciliation with husband. I've held on this past year as kind of a "back up plan". He covers Cam and me on his health insurance (at no additional cost to him) and covers the policy on my Cavalier. In all fairness, I'm using him financially, and even if he realizes that, it's still not right. It's time to cut all ties and move forward. Settlement should be fairly easy - all I want is my VA Loan benefit (this will require him to refinance the house in his name) and health insurance coverage for Cam until he is 18.
  2. Become a regular visitor at the gym - Yeah ... that's a fairly general statement, but being that I have a tendency to see things as all or nothing, and punish myself if I don't meet my own expectations, a general statement is less likely to backfire on me.
  3. Write more - I've spent far too much time writing fluff on tumblr. Real blog posts have been few and far between. I like writing - conveying ideas through words - and on this blog is where that magic happens ... not on tumblr (or twitter or facebook).
  4. Read more (blogs) - After reading Emmy's "challenge" I realized just how much I miss the blogging community - a community that is generally far more thoughtful and reflective than the tumblr heart/facebook thumbs up crowd. The only way back into it is to get back into it.
  5. Find a new job (preferably in the legal field) - Yes, in this economy I'm "lucky" to have a relatively secure job, but I was more. Not only is my current job not challenging, it is a seriously screwed up environment to work in. 4 years is long enough. Time to move forward.
  6. Knock out my east coast states - Road trip is planned for the end of June and with a co-pilot this year. It will be my annual "Cam is off at camp and mom gets to play" week .

*tentative route*

I have total faith in your ability to accomplish each of these. BTW, you left off "Play the IWS Podcast 10 times a day." But, that's okay. ;-)

Good to-do's. I can't remember if I took a peek at your resume, but I am always happy to. Also, depending on when you travel, you can crash with us.
